I’m Jacqueline Bowler — a senior instructional designer, digital learning strategist, pianist, and electronic musican with a PhD in Communication and Media from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
I bring 10+ years of experience designing innovative and advanced learning experiences for higher education, health care, and corporate clients.
I’m passionate about using media, design, and emerging technologies to create learning experiences that are clear, engaging, and transformative. I specialize in analyzing complex information and translating it into purposeful, user-centered content that bridges instructional design, UX, and creative storytelling to meet real-world learning needs.
I’m a lifelong student of history, media, and technology. My research interests include the history of personal computing, new media and the music industry, and sound design in film. I speak Spanish fluently and enjoy traveling to explore diverse cultures and perspectives.
I am also a pianist, composer, and music producer. I’ve played piano nearly my entire life, combining self-directed learning with formal study in classical music and music theory.
Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of styles — from jazz and rock to electronic production and minimalist soundscapes. My projects have included modern chamber works, hip-hop and techno collaborations, and most recently, my own distinctive take on cocktail and lounge piano.
In addition to composing and performing, I’ve taught piano for more than a decade, and I’m passionate about inspiring others to find joy and creative expression through music.
